Gate, a leading global digital asset trading platform, has announced a major upgrade to its stock trading services, becoming the first platform in the industry to offer zero-fee mode for eligible U.S. stocks and ETFs. Under the new fee structure, Gate waives its Trading Fee on eligible buy and sell orders for U.S. stocks and ETFs. In addition, users are not charged any minimum Trading Fee, Account Opening Fee, or Account Maintenance Fee, further reducing the cost of investing in the U.S. equity market and enhancing the global trading experience.
In addition to Gate's waived Trading Fee, users may still incur certain third-party charges associated with trading in the U.S. market, including Settlement Fees, regulatory fees, and American Depositary Receipt (ADR) Custody Fees. These charges are imposed in accordance with the rules of the relevant regulators, clearing organizations, and custodian banks, and are borne by users based on their actual trading activity. Additionally, following the zero-fee mode upgrade, US stock trades will no longer count toward the total trading volume of Gate VIP tiers.
Specifically, the Settlement Fee applies to both buy and sell orders at $0.003 per share, capped at 0.05% of the transaction value. The SEC Regulatory Fee and Trading Activity Fee (TAF) apply only to sell orders. The SEC Regulatory Fee is charged at $20.60 per $1 million of sell-side principal, with trades of $500 or less exempt. The TAF is charged at $0.000195 per share, with sell orders of 50 shares or fewer exempt, and is capped at $9.79 per execution. The Consolidated Audit Trail Fee (CAT) applies to both buy and sell orders at $0.000003 per share. For American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), issuers or custodian banks may charge an ADR Custody Fee, typically ranging from $0.01 to $0.03 per share, subject to the terms of the underlying security.
Gate has established a comprehensive 24/7 global stock trading ecosystem covering the three major equity markets: the U.S., Hong Kong, and South Korea. The platform supports trading in more than 10,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, over 1,500 Hong Kong-listed stocks, and more than 1,000 Korean stocks, providing access to over 12,500 stocks and ETFs worldwide. The platform provides fractional share trading starting from as little as 0.01 shares, stock dividend entitlements, and features such as cross-broker stock transfers for U.S. and Hong Kong stocks, as well as corporate action support, including stock splits and reverse stock splits.
The introduction of this new fee structure marks another important step in Gate's ongoing efforts to enhance its global multi-asset trading ecosystem. By launching zero-fee mode for eligible U.S. stocks and ETFs, Gate significantly lowers the barrier to equity investing, enabling more users to access global capital markets in a more flexible and cost-efficient manner.
